Pit bulls go bad in Texas

Texas readers may have heard about a recent incident involving pit bulls attacking a man. Animal attacks are regularly in the news, and it's easy to see why as they can be horrific, especially after hearing about this story. According to the news from Dec. 26, a man riding his bike was nearly mutilated by a pack of dangerous animals.

A 28-year-old man had gone out for a cycle ride when five pit bulls allegedly attacked him. He had to be taken to a local hospital due to the severity of the attack, according to reports. The puncture wounds, described as fairly severe, were on his arms and legs, according to a chief deputy.

One of the dogs and its owner has been apparently identified, but the other four still remain at large, their owners unidentified, if they have owners at all. Unfortunately, according to the deputy, this sort of problem is very common in the outer areas of the city. There, the area doesn't have a law requiring animals to be leashed. This means that law enforcement officers are unable to control the issue until an incident happens.

One of the many reason why dog attacks are widely reported is simply because they tend to be painful and extreme examples of when man's best friend goes wild. The man who was attacked by the dogs may have to undergo hospital treatments, which will be expensive. Dogs normally have owners, and it's possible to recoup the cost of the treatment from the owners in certain cases. If you or a loved one have been put in a similar situation by a rogue pet, it's worth considering your options and getting legal advice.
