Veering off the road is generally a sign that something went wrong behind the wheel.

According to CBS Dallas-Fort Worth, the driver of a tanker truck went off the road and into a lake off Highway 175 in Texas at one in the morning.

Accident investigators “don’t know what caused him to veer off the road …”

Probably the accident was caused from drowsy driving, or from distracted driving, but it’s too early to tell.

Though this appears to have been a single-vehicle accident, with no one else injured, the truck driver was airlifted to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. As CBS reports, the truck driver’s medical condition is not known at this time.

Accident investigators confirmed that there was not anything hazardous within the tanker; it was only spring water en route from Jasper to Dallas.
