San Antonio woman files suit in Texas after dog bite overseas

A San Antonio woman was in Afghanistan two years ago, when she says she was attacked by a military dog. Last month, she filed a lawsuit in Texas against the companies that reportedly trained and owned the canine and employed its handler when the incident occurred.

The woman says that she has filed the lawsuit in Texas because the dog was almost entirely trained in Bandera County by these companies. The claims against the companies are that they were negligent in training the dog, because they didn't properly train the dog not to attack unless commanded to do so, the dog was not properly restrained or supervised while on a military base overseas and the handler was not trained in proper restraint techniques.

When someone is attacked by a dog, they might not only suffer severe physical injuries and pain, but they might have emotional and psychological problems following as a result of an attack. These injuries might require extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and even therapy for emotional stress.

Speaking with an experienced personal injury attorney in San Antonio after a dog bite or attack might be a wise decision. Sometimes injuries can result in thousands of dollars of medical expenses, and need for long-term care. This care can be extremely expensive, leaving a family with tough financial decisions. If someone else's negligent actions result in a dog bite and severe injuries, it isn't fair that a victim or their family should have to make financial sacrifices in order to get the care the victim needs.
