Oil Field Accidents a Growing Problem, One Person Injured Tuesday
A worker was injured in another oil field accident in Texas this week. According to a report a man was injured when disposal tanks cause fire at the site of an oil field, and was flown to a hospital in San Antonio. This is the second oil field explosion in two weeks in this area of Texas.
According to a report, dangers on the oil fields aren't isolated to one or two areas. The Texas Railroad Commission which issues permits to such facilities found more than 55,000 violations throughout the state and oil and gas facilities. While only 400 of the violations were considered major, these violations still put workers in danger of injuries.
Although the Railroad Commission assessed fines for these violations, no amount of fines will be able to undo an accident for a victim. Sometimes when people are injured in oil field accidents, they might be faced with large medical bills and future medical expenses. At the same time, they might be out of work for an extended period of time.
Speaking with a San Antonio personal injury attorney might be a wise decision. They can help a victim of an oil field accident understand their rights. This might include a person's right to compensation for medical expenses. Sometimes a person might be offered a settlement for their expenses that doesn't cover all necessary future expenses. An attorney can evaluate any settlements and ensure they will help a person cover all of their future medical expenses and lost wages.
