As Kandolite Flores reports for KFOX 14 News, the mother of a 19-year-old Texan says, “Giovanni is barely 19 and barely getting his life started,” referring to a hit-and-run incident on August 26 that nearly killed him.

She says, “I can’t even explain it. It was terrifying.”

Her son was apparently crossing the street with his friends – with the right of way – when someone yelled, “Watch out!”

Eyewitnesses told the 19-year-old that he went over the hood of the car, hit the windshield, and fell to the ground on his back. They also told him that it was a green Chevrolet.

As Flores reports, his mother says, “Giovanni didn’t die but they could have killed him and what if this person does it again? The next person he hits may not be as lucky as my son.”

Both Giovanni and his mother are asking witnesses to come forward with any additional information on the driver.
